Empty the shower basket completely. Remove bottles, razors, sponges, and any detachable parts. Rinse the basket with warm water to remove loose soap scum, shampoo residue, and hair.
For routine cleaning, use mild dish soap or a bathroom cleaner and a soft sponge or microfiber cloth. Scrub corners, drain holes, and joints where grime collects. If the basket has buildup, soak it in warm water mixed with vinegar for 15–30 minutes, then scrub again. For stubborn mildew, use a diluted bleach solution only if the material allows it; rinse very well afterward.
If the basket is metal, dry it thoroughly after washing to prevent rust, especially around screws and seams. For plastic baskets, avoid abrasive pads that can scratch the surface. If it has suction cups or adhesive mounts, clean those separately and check that they still hold firmly. Replace them if they lose grip.
To maintain it, rinse the basket briefly every week during your shower cleaning routine and wipe it dry if possible. Avoid overloading it, since too much weight can loosen hooks or mounts. Keep toiletries capped and upright to reduce leaks and residue. Once a month, do a deeper clean to prevent mold, soap scum, and odors.
If you see rust, mildew, or cracking, address it quickly. Repair or replace damaged parts so the basket stays safe, clean, and functional.
