It is far smaller and needs no plant room.

Why does external static pressure matter?

Because the blower must overcome the duct system.

Ducts, grilles and the filter all resist flow.

Rated airflow assumes a stated resistance.

Beyond it, delivered airflow falls away.

This is the commonest cause of disappointment.

What should be checked at selection?

Airflow at the actual external static pressure.

Not the headline airflow figure alone.

The duct design should be known first.

Filter resistance belongs in the calculation.

Allow for the filter loading, not just its clean state.

Why is filter access so important?

A filter that cannot be reached is not changed.

These units are hidden by design.

Access panels must be planned into the ceiling.

A neglected filter throttles the whole system.

It also loads the coil with dirt.

What does the condensate arrangement need?

A drain with a genuine fall on it.

Above a finished ceiling, more is required.

A secondary tray or a safety switch is normal.
