Each one is made to a schedule.

Face dimensions, rows and fin spacing all vary.

So do materials, circuiting and connections.

Those figures come from the coil being replaced.

A catalogue equivalent rarely exists.

What has to be measured before ordering?

Everything the casing and pipework fix.

Face height and width of the opening.

Depth available for the number of rows.

Connection size and which side they emerge.

Assumptions here make the coil unusable.

What happens if the replacement is not identical?

The unit around it has to be altered.

Casing openings may need modifying.

Pipework may need rerouting to reach connections.

A simple replacement becomes a fabrication job.

Cost and downtime both increase sharply.

Should materials simply match the original?

Not automatically, no.

If the original failed early, the environment caused it.

Coastal and pool atmospheres attack standard fins.

Coated or alternative materials last far longer.

Replacement is the moment to reconsider.

Can sections be added to an existing unit?

Often, if the casing interface matches.

Filter sections and attenuators are common additions.

So are heat recovery devices.

Physical space to extend into is required.

The existing fan must handle the added resistance.

What constraint has nothing to do with performance?

The route in.

The component must reach the plant room.

It must then be manoeuvred into position.

Doors, corners and lifts all constrain that.

An unroutable component is not a specification.

How is a coil's duty confirmed?

From flow, temperatures and airflow together.

Water or refrigerant conditions on one side.

Air volume and entering condition on the other.

Pressure drop on both sides is checked.

The fan and pump must still cope with it.
