Why store hot water at all?

Only indirect can take a boiler.

Why does insulation matter so much?

Because the loss is continuous.

A cylinder stands full for hours or days.

Losing heat the whole time.

It never appears as an event.

Just as a bill, every day.

Is a calorifier a different thing?

The same object, in commercial language.

Usually indirect and usually larger.

Often serving a building rather than a home.

The principles are identical.

Only the scale and the terminology differ.
