What actually needs planning?

It is not an alternative to a supply.

It is a hazard instead of one.

What protection is required?

Residual current protection, at minimum.

Plus whatever the local rules state.

For the zone the pan sits in.

And the appliance class permitted there.

The rules differ by market.

What if power cannot be provided?

Then this is not the product.

Which is the honest answer.

A seat in a warmer material helps.

Much of the cold shock is conductivity.

Rather than actual temperature.

Are most heated seats just heated?

No - most combine other functions.

Which makes them bidet seats with heating.

Needing water as well as power.

And a different specification entirely.
